Ukraine produces its analogues of Iranian Shahed

Minister of Strategic Industries Alexander Kamishin said on the air of the telethon that this year Ukrainian capabilities to produce such drones are no less than those of Russia.

According to him, Ukraine is succeeding both in producing analogues of Shahed and in producing other strike drones.

“What explodes in Russia is all ours.”

He also commented on the parameters of identity of Ukrainian kamikaze drones to Russian-Iranian ones.

The minister noted that they are similar in terms of the amount of mobile explosive, range, and other technical parameters.

However, Kamishin pointed out that currently the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense complex are twice as large as Ukraine can afford to buy.

What budget funds are sufficient for has already been contracted. Therefore, the government asks allies to purchase drones for Ukraine from our manufacturers.

Drone production in Ukraine

In October 2023, Alexander Kamishin announced during the NATO Industrial Forum in Stockholm that Ukraine plans to produce tens of thousands of drones per month.

The minister did not disclose the exact number of drones Ukraine currently produces monthly, but said it was “several thousand units.”

In December 2023, Zelensky promised at the final press conference that Ukraine would produce a million Ukrainian drones next year.

In February, within the framework of the Defense Contact Group’s work, the Drone Coalition began operating in Ukraine.

The coalition is co-led by Latvia and the United Kingdom. Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Estonia, and the Netherlands have already joined the coalition.
