Sweden will transfer approximately $5 million to the NATO fund to assist Ukraine: how the funds will be used

The NATO Aid Fund for Ukraine will receive 50 million Swedish crowns to support projects lacking funding. The funds from Sweden, about $5 million, will be allocated for military equipment, fuel, and medicine. This was reported by the country’s government press service.

The NATO Aid Fund for Ukraine will receive 50 million Swedish crowns. The money will be used to support projects lacking funding, such as:

→ Procurement of defense equipment;
→ Purchase of fuel;
→ Purchase of medicines;
→ Purchase of demining equipment.

Another five million Swedish crowns will be provided to Georgia for projects in the following areas:

→ Crisis resolution;
→ Cybersecurity;
→ Intelligence exchange.

Earlier, the Minister of Civil Defense of Sweden, Carl-Oscar Bolin, stated that the country could face war and urged compatriots to contribute to defense.

On January 9, the Prime Minister of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, announced that in 2025, the country plans to deploy troops to Latvia as part of forces led by Canada to deter Russia from aggression, despite the fact that the country is not yet a full member of NATO.
