Putin’s plan for a ‘great offensive’ in Donbas has failed, according to intelligence

The Russian army, as part of its so-called ‘great offensive’, was unable to fulfill the task given by Russian President Vladimir Putin to conquer the Donetsk and Luhansk regions by the end of March. This was stated by Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

Currently, Ukraine is experiencing the climax of a campaign known as the “new Russian great offensive.” However, it is important to remind both Ukraine and the world that we are living under conditions of a full-scale invasion since February 24, 2022.

This is an attempt by the enemy to demoralize Ukrainian society, as well as demoralize our partners and allies, implying that such an army is already present, so why provide more help,” said Yusov.

He emphasized that as part of their so-called “great offensive,” the Russians were unable to fulfill Putin’s task of “taking Donbas by the end of March.” “The next deadlines and tasks that Putin set for the occupation corps in Ukraine, including for Valeriy Gerasimov after he was appointed responsible for the war in Ukraine, have failed,” said the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

He also added that the results of the “great offensive” can be seen on the battlefield – the number of eliminated occupiers and military equipment has increased.

“This means that none of the stated strategic goals of this shameful war, which the Russians call the SVU, have been achieved or will be achieved,” emphasized Yusov.
