Zaluzhnyi: Defense Forces Destroyed 29 out of 30 Cruise Missiles. Photo of Debris in Kyiv Region

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, announced that the Air Force and Defense Forces were able to destroy 29 out of 30 Russian cruise missiles from the evening of May 17th to the morning of May 18th. The National Police have shown the aftermath of the occupiers’ shelling in the Kyiv region.

Zaluzhnyi stated that from 9:00 PM on May 17th to 5:30 AM on May 18th, Russian occupiers conducted several waves of missile attacks on Ukraine from various directions.

The Russians launched 30 cruise missiles of naval, aerial, and ground-based platforms: 22 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, six Kalibr cruise missiles, and two Iskander-K cruise missiles.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that Ukrainian defenders have shot down 29 cruise missiles. Additionally, two strike UAVs Shahed-136/131 and two tactical reconnaissance UAVs were destroyed.

The Head of the National Police in the Kyiv region, General Andriy Nyebitov, showed photos of the aftermath of the nocturnal missile attack by Russians.

He noted that there were no casualties and no significant damage was reported.
