Ukraine and Denmark have agreed to commence negotiations on the signing of an agreement on security guarantees within the framework of the Vilnius Declaration.
According to Rasmussen, Denmark feels a responsibility “to assist Ukraine in fully restoring territorial integrity, countering Russian forces that have invaded its territory, and becoming a full-fledged member of the EU.”
“Of course, I discussed this with my Ukrainian colleague Dmytro Kuleba, and we agreed that we will now start specific negotiations on our security commitments. I hope that in the near future, we will finalize a bilateral agreement between Denmark and Ukraine,” said the Danish minister.
Rasmussen noted that in a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, he discussed ‘specific ways in which Denmark can assist Ukraine in regaining control over its entire territory.’
Security Agreement between Ukraine and Britain
During the visit of the UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to Kyiv on January 12, the signing of a bilateral security agreement between Britain and Ukraine took place, which will be effective until Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
This security agreement became the first among those that Ukraine hopes to conclude with its partners.
The agreement includes the exchange of intelligence, cybersecurity, medical and military training, and defense-industrial cooperation.
