Zelensky Identifies New Russian Target in Western Ukraine

During a phone conversation with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that the criminal Russian army has targeted gas infrastructure in western Ukraine.

The Russian army is attacking gas infrastructure in western Ukraine. One of Russia’s current targets is the gas infrastructure in western Ukraine. Success for Russia there would jeopardize Europe’s energy security. We must find a way to counter this together, emphasized Zelensky.

The head of state noted that Ukraine needs additional air defense systems to protect critical gas infrastructure.

He also added that Ukraine and Poland have instructed their respective teams to urgently start working on a security guarantees agreement.

“It should be as ambitious as possible between historical partners”, emphasized Zelensky.

Zelensky Holds Supreme Commander’s Staff Meeting in Kharkiv Region

On May 16, President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Supreme Commander’s Staff in Kharkiv.

The president received reports from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the “Khortytsia” Operational-Strategic Group of Troops Yurii Sodol, and Commander of the “Kharkiv” Operational-Tactical Group Mykhailo Drapatyi on the operational situation at the front.

The current situation in the areas of Lyptsi and Vovchansk was specifically discussed.

“As of today, the situation in the Kharkiv region is generally controlled, with our soldiers inflicting significant losses on the occupiers. However, the direction remains extremely challenging, and units are being reinforced”, according to the publication on the president’s website.

Heads of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kyrylo Budanov and the Foreign Intelligence Service Oleh Ivashchenko reported on the intentions of the occupiers, while Security Service of Ukraine chief Vasyl Malyuk reported on counter-sabotage measures.

A plan of further actions was determined for both the regional authorities of Kharkiv and all structures responsible for security in the region.

The president also received reports from the heads of regional authorities from other border and frontline regions regarding the current situation, main risks, and key needs, and gave appropriate instructions.
