U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed in a briefing that Washington has permitted Kyiv to target Russian territories using American weapons.
According to him, Ukraine has recently requested permission from the U.S. to use American weapons to counter Russian aggression. He clarified that the request involved Kyiv’s desire to strike Russian forces that “are concentrating on the Russian side of the border and attacking Ukraine.”
“This went straight to President [Joe Biden]. And, as you’ve heard, he approved the use of the weapons for this purpose,” Blinken stated.
The U.S. Secretary of State added that Washington will continue to support Ukraine, adjusting as necessary to the circumstances.
