Zelensky – Biden: Receiving ATACMS has inspired Ukrainians, and soldiers are using them successfully

President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. leader Joe Biden held a phone conversation. Among other things, they discussed military assistance, ATACMS missiles, the visit of the U.S. Special Representative, the PEP law, and Israel.

“Had a conversation with U.S. President Joseph Biden and thanked him for the effective implementation of our recent defense agreements. The receipt of ATACMS missiles has been a great inspiration for Ukrainians, and our soldiers are successfully using them on the battlefield,” Zelensky wrote.

The President noted that they discussed further strengthening of Ukraine’s long-range capabilities.

He informed that he appreciates the recent fruitful visit of the U.S. Special Representative, Penny Pritzker, to Ukraine, during which the parties initiated productive negotiations on the use of frozen Russian assets.

Zelensky also informed Biden about the recent law on politically significant individuals, passed by the Verkhovna Rada for “advancing reforms and starting negotiations on EU accession.”

“I noted Joseph Biden’s visit to Israel to seek peace and protect the lives of civilians,” the president said.

The leaders of the two countries discussed the next joint steps in advancing the Formula of Peace. Zelensky welcomed the U.S. decision to send its representative to the next meeting of political advisors in Malta at the end of October.

“Ukraine is grateful for the vital and steadfast support from the U.S. in our fight for freedom and against Russian aggression,” the president concluded.

Later, Zelensky added that they also discussed the preservation of assistance to Ukraine for the next year: “Regarding a significant support package for our state.”
